In this tutorial, you will learn how to update your iPhone’s software to the latest version using a MacBook or any Mac for that matter. This process works for any iOS update and this is useful when you don't have enough space on your iPhone to update the software.

Do not disconnect the cable through out the process. If you think this is hard to do while reading and doing, go checkout the Video Tutorial of Update iPhone software on Macbook where I clearly explained each and every step with live demo.

Step 10: Now the MacBook starts downloading the iPhone’s software update. This process takes a while based on your internet speed. So be patient while it downloads the software.

Step 11: After the download is completed, the downloaded software will be extracted by the Macbook.

Update iPhone: Extracting Software

Step 12: Once the extraction process is completed, the Macbook backups your iPhone locally. A window would show up on the Macbook asking to backup the iPhone and should you encrypt the backup. For now, I’m going with the option "Don’t encrypt". However, it is always recommended to use the Encrypt backups option.
